Replay: Jacques Laskar (Observatoire de Paris-Académie des Sciences)

The second keynote address of the day, titled “The Astronomical Construction of Geological Time,” was delivered by Jacques Laskar, an astronomer, research director at the CNRS, and member of the French Academy of Sciences. In it, he outlined his methodology, his career path, and the project aimed at tracing the Earth’s movements recorded in rocks over millions of years. The ERC AstroGéo project thus aims to reconstruct the history of the Earth, the Earth-Moon system, and the solar system through the analysis of sedimentary geological data.
